Danshell Learning Disability and Autism Services

Danshell supports and cares for adults living with a learning disability or autism in specialist hospitals and residential services. Our aim is to deliver effective and outcome based services within person centred, professional care environments. We support individuals with a learning disability, who are on the autistic spectrum or have mental or physical ill health. We set high standards for ourselves in the delivery of care, and most importantly, we put service users at the centre of everything we do.

At Danshell we believe that everyone in our teams have a valuable contribution to make to the health and wellbeing of the people we support. Whether that is a registered nurse, a healthcare assistant, a support worker or a student nurse.

We have a dedicated team of Consultant Nurses who are lead by our Director of Nursing & Governance. This ensures all of our services receive support and advice from a professional nursing leadership team.

We work closely with the Royal College of Nursing on continuing professional development and offer placements for student nurses at many of our services. We are signed up to the standards of the Preceptorship Charter and ensure our newly qualified staff get good support and learning in their first role.

Having such exceptional nursing leadership across the organisation means we are invited to, lead and participate in a range of national and regional initiatives and networks for nursing.
