Professor Bill Lindsay

Bill LindsayIt is with great sadness that we have learnt this weekend of the tragic news that Professor Bill Lindsay, our Lead Consultant Psychologist and Head of Research, has passed away peacefully on Saturday night.

Professor Lindsay was an expert in the field of learning disability and forensic psychology, and made a massive contribution on both a national and international scale. He was well regarded within Danshell and the wider industry, having published over 350 research articles and book chapters, and taught and inspired many people through lecturing, presentations and workshops.

Professor Lindsay worked for us for over 8 years and in that time those who worked with him found him to be an invaluable colleague, gaining much from his expert knowledge and empathetic manner. Dr Jane McCarthy, Medical Director said, “Bill was a great colleague and always very supportive.”

Efi Hershkovitz, Chairman, expressed his sadness at the news, saying, “Bill’s personality and professionalism will be missed in Danshell and within the industry. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

Professor Lindsay had a wife, Isobel, 3 children, and grandchildren. We extend our sympathy to them at this difficult time.
