Members of the team at our services across the East Midlands are celebrating after receiving multiple nominations at prestigious regional and national awards.
Cedar Vale hospital in East Bridgford and Toller Road care home in Leicester both have team members who have been shortlisted at the East Midlands Regional Great British Care Awards. Toller Road is in the running for a team award in the ‘Personalisation’ category, and these regional heats of the National Great British Care Awards have also seen two of our fantastic Nurses shortlisted in the ‘Good Nurse’ category; Charge Nurses Maxine Thorne and Beth Fields, of Toller Road and Cedar Vale respectively, are enjoying their friendly competition and wish each other well for the award ceremony on 17th November.
Beth has also been recognised for her autism awareness work with a shortlisting at the Laing Buisson Awards in the ‘Nursing Practice’ category.
Toller Road supports up to eight people with learning disabilities and complex needs. The team also support those with associated mental or physical health needs.
Cedar Vale provides assessment and intervention for up to 14 men living with autism and learning disabilities. The team have particular experience with those who have complex needs and behaviours, or who have significant difficulties with social engagement.
Toller Road and Cedar Vale are supported by a management team that has also been recognised at national awards for their outstanding work. Amy Childs, regional Consultant Nurse, was shortlisted for the ‘Nurse Leader’ award at the Nursing Times Awards and the ‘Rising Star’ award at the Laing Buisson Award, and Cate Ball, regional Business Support Manager, is a finalist at the National Care Awards in the ‘Resident Engagement’ category.
