Our award-winning Consultant Nurse Amy Childs has received further recognition after being named as ‘Rising Star’ at the prestigious LaingBuisson awards.
Amy, who is our Consultant Nurse for the Midlands region, is a shining light for the sector, having already been a winner at the prestigious National Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards 2017. She was also shortlisted for the Nursing Times’ ‘Nurse Leader’ award.
The LaingBuisson Awards are the Oscars of health and social care. In their 12th year of recognising excellence, they are judged independently and objectively and focus on the people providing the care as well as their advisors.
Amy said of her latest win: “What I have achieved this year in my personal career is purely due to the support around me and the opportunities provided to me by Danshell. The people we support teach us to be better clinicians on a daily basis and I feel that I can make a real difference.
“I am so grateful for the awards presented to me, but each should be a team award as all my achievements have been a team effort.”
Allan Bailey, our Director for Quality and Governance, said: “Amy really is a star and I am so proud that her hard work and dedication has been acknowledged with this award.
“Amy has been with Danshell for more than ten years and continues to enhance the lives of the people we support and enable her colleagues to be the very best they can be.”
