Three of our team at Trinity House care home in Lockerbie, were shortlisted at the regional heats for the Great British Care Awards, held at the beginning of the month.
Senior Chefs Rikki Maxwell and Amanda Jackson were finalists in the ‘Care Home Chef’ award category and Wendy Taylor, Senior Support Worker, was recognised in the ‘Care Home Worker’ category.
These awards pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence through their work in the care sector.
Trinity House care home was visited by the Care Inspectorate earlier this year and rated as ‘Very Good’ in all areas. The team at Trinity House also won the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) ‘Innovative practice in supporting people with intellectual disabilities through positive behaviour support’ award at the BILD Positive Behaviour Support Leadership Awards 2017.
Trinity House offers care and support to adults with a learning disability and complex needs within a structured and therapeutic environment. The team also support those with additional mental and physical health needs, as well as complex behaviours.
Melinda Glover, our Divisional Managing Director for Scotland and South East England, said: “The whole award-winning team at Trinity House deserve credit for the fantastic job they do for the people they support.
“I am thrilled for Rikki, Amanda and Wendy and very proud that they were shortlisted for such prestigious awards.”
