The people we support at Willow House, our care home for people with learning disabilities in Birmingham, have been enjoying the snowfall this December. They got excited for the Christmas period with fun games in the snow and a person-centred awards night.
On 1st December, Willow House held its annual awards night to kick start the Christmas festivities. Each person the team supports received a certificate and a gift linked to their special talents, from best DJ to best knowledge of specialist subjects. There were even some silly awards for the staff too.
Everyone had a great night with a tasty buffet followed by a disco. Everyone at Willow House would like to say a big thank you to Janice Campbell, Activity Coordinator, for organising the night!
The festive celebrations continued when the snow arrived in Birmingham! Everyone at Willow House made the most of it, wrapping up warm and heading into the garden to build snowmen. This quickly turned into a snowball fight with everyone getting involved. It was great fun and the snowman has even stuck around for a few days. Everyone at Willow House is looking forward to the next snow flurry to arrive for more fun!
