Trinity House care home in Lockerbie were inspired by the Great British Bake Off to hold their own baking competition.
Three people at Trinity House took part, each supported by a member of staff, and made either a starter, main course or a pudding. They invited John Baird, HR Business Partner for Scotland, to judge the competition alongside Service Manager Kirsty Dale.
All three competitors learnt new skills and did very well, creating tasty food. Richard made the starter of deep fried brie wedges served with a salad and tomato swan to garnish, Robert made tagliatelle from scratch and Anne Marie made a chocolate cake with pink pigs wallowing in the chocolate mud! All three were ambitious, but it was Richard and his brie wedges who won overall. Well done Richard!
The competition was such a great success that Trinity House have decided to hold regular dinner parties, as Richard, Robert and Anne Marie had such fun and learnt so much.
