About Susan Wood
Susan is a qualified placement educator and has worked with the University of Essex to support in the university in student interviews, attending managers and educators days and providing students with valuable placement opportunities. Susan has worked with Danshell to set up student placements in the S.E of England with students now attending placement on a regular basis.
Susan has been an active committee member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists and College of Occupational Therapists (BAOT/COT) since 2006, holding a number of roles, more recently she was appointed to the role of Eastern Region Communications Lead in 2012. She developed the Eastern region Newsletter as a student and has been the Editor of Newsletter since 2006; publishing 4 times a year to the Eastern region which covers one of the biggest areas in the country, encompassing Essex, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Hertfordshire.
Susan has been published on a number of occasions in the OTNews and presented at National Conference in Brighton in 2009, 2014. Susan is a member of the College of Occupational Therapists (COT) Specialist Section (SS) People with Learning Disabilities and the COT SS- Mental Health.
Susan worked on the development of the “Life Star” with Triangle and other service providers; piloting the star on sites whilst in a former role.
