Service user representatives from around the country came to York to help with our jolly judging day, dressed in their best Christmas jumpers.

  • Toller2The entire team at Toller Road care home are celebrating after being recognised for the high quality of personalised support they provide.

    The care home received the ‘Putting People First Award’ at the East Midlands regional Great British Care Awards, and will now go on to represent their region at the national final in February next year.

  • Willow House BILDAt the end 2017, Matthew and Daniel, two gentlemen from Willow House, were invited to join an advisory group with the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD). The advisory group meets four times a year and reports directly to the BILD Board of Directors. The aim of these sessions is to discuss issues and challenges facing adults with learning disabilities and how they can overcome these barriers.

    Bright Isokpan is a Healthcare Support Worker at Thors Park. Bright takes the time to learn all about the people he supports, asking questions and is always eager to find out more about people’s interests. He is a role model to the team, encouraging them to share people’s likes and dislikes so that the whole team has a real understanding of each person they support.

  • Cedar ValeCedar Vale hospital in East Bridgford, near Nottingham has been undergoing redevelopment over the last few months, and now the work is complete, we’d like to tell you about everything that’s been going on.

  • Amy Childs AwardsAmy Childs, our Midlands Consultant Nurse, has had a busy year, with a trio of award shortlistings this year alone. Amy gained recognition as the Service Manager of Wast Hills, leading the team to achieve an Outstanding with the CQC. The team at Wast Hills have continued this trend of excellence, also being shortlisted for three awards in 2017.

  • Care Awards logo 2017 Finalist 2Jo Crook, Manager of Hollyhurst care home in Darlington, has been named as a finalist at a national awards. Jo is in the running for ‘Care Home Manager of the Year’ at the National Care Awards.

    Dr Tony Perini is our North East Consultant Psychiatrist. Dr Perini is praised for always doing his best for the people he supports, making sure he is available at all hours and even being known to take calls when away on holiday! He was described as a ‘good listener’ by one service user who nominated him.
